As the name suggests, hard house is a quite hard version of house music. It`s typified by the usage of minimalistic elements and hard four-on-the-floor beats.

The style emerged in the same place where house was born — in Chicago, in the mid-90s due to musicians such as Paul Johnson, Cajmere, DJ Bam Bam, Poogie Bear, Bad Boy Bill, and DJ Sneak. Among labels, which release records of hard house, attention should be paid to Nukleuz, Tripoli Trax, Tidy Trax.
Nowadays, hard house began to grow again; especially it is gaining popularity throughout England and Ireland. Many DJs and the `90s projects like Brian Bashers, Chris C, Dynamic Intervention, 12 Inch Thumpers came back.
