Shuz Puppy is a Russian musical group formed in early 2003. The band consists of two musicians: Pavel Annenkov and Evgeny Sudarev. Before forming the band, they were members of the TranSlaves project, where they worked with trance music.
Now the group is working in several directions, giving preferences:
- electro
- progressive
- house

The name comes from the phrase "slippers in the form of dogs" (shoes puppy). promodj.com
The band creates music using the programs Propellerhead Reason, Cubase, Sound Forge, as well as using VST instruments and synthesizers.
The birth of a hit and the first success.
-The debut track "Rock da House" became a real manifesto of a new sound. The musicians boldly mixed electro with elements of club culture - it turned out to be bold, fresh and incredibly danceable.
-After the distribution of the promotional material, the band received an offer to include the track in the compilation "Don't Sleep!" vol. 1. This was the first serious success — the music of Shuz Puppy was heard at parties, and the name of the band began to be recognized.
- A year later, "Rock da house (club mix)" was released on the Fort Dance 5 Mototour compilation, mixed by DJ Ivan Rudyk.
- The track could also be heard on the airwaves of the program "Electrica", which airs on the waves of radio "Energia FM".
- A year later, based on the results of voting on the website muzzone.ru The track "Rock da house" was included in the top hundred songs of 2004.
- 2 remixes from "Russian mafia" were made for this track, which were appreciated by Sergey Pimenov and included in his sets.

Shuz Puppy: from Moscow basements to the heights of the electronic scene.
In the mid‑2000s, two musicians, Evgeny Sudarev and Pavel Annenkov, met in Moscow, where nightclubs glittered with neon and the rhythm of the city pulsed to the beat of house and trance. During the day they studied at universities, and at night they experimented with sound in an improvised studio set up in an old basement on the outskirts of the city, which friends jokingly called the "Sound Kennel", wrote dozens and hundreds of sketches, prototypes of the first sets in the Acid Pro program.
The origin of sound
Their first tracks were born out of improvisations: Pavel brought hard beats and industrial textures to the music, while Evgeny was responsible for melodic lines and hypnotic synthesizer parts. They wanted to create a sound that would not just make you dance, but immerse you in a special state - as if you were flying over a night metropolis, where the lights merge into one bright line.
Almost by accident: Evgeny brought an old synthesizer found in the attic of his grandmother's cottage, and Pavel got a vintage jomox airbase 99 drum machine with a pair of faulty buttons. Subsequently, almost all the synthesizers I bought (Access Virus B, Roland JP 8000) had broken buttons. But it was these imperfections that gave their music its signature touch - a slightly "hackneyed" but incredibly catchy sound.
One day, while testing a new track in a club, they noticed that people weren't just dancing-they'd freeze for a second and then jump into the rhythm with renewed vigor. "It's like an adrenaline rush," one of my friends said, and that's how the next track was named.
While working on an electro composition, it was necessary to name the project TranSlaves in a new way. Producer Tolik Vorontsov heard a neighbor's puppy behind the wall begin to howl to the beat of the melody. "It's our mascot!" they laughed. That's how the name Shuz Puppy appeared - a combination of the word "shoes" (an allusion to the dance rhythm) and the very puppy that seemed to approve of their work. The track Rock the House was released in 2003. By the way, Pavel had a toy dog at home with a nodding head, it was bought back in the 90s. The first version of the website was designed with her photo.
Breakthrough: "Poka Gorod Spit"
You can say that in 2008 everything changed. The year 2008 was a turning point. The track "Poka Gorod Spit" ("While the city sleeps") got into the hands of the Belgian label Bonzai Fiesta. The reaction was instant: charmed by the melancholic but energetic sound, Christian Fly Pieters turned it on at a party, and a week later the track was playing on European electronic music forums. Bonzai Fiesta label offered a contract, and Shuz Puppy released the single digitally.
The era of big scenes. The era of albums.
The following years turned into a kaleidoscope of events:
2010-2012: a series of tracks with hypnotic melodies - "Hypnotize", "Hysteria" and "Adrenaline" consolidated the duo's reputation as masters of melodic house.
Inspired by their success, Evgeny and Pavel released a series of albums, each of which revealed a new facet of their style.:
The albums "From Moscow to the Universe" and "Zodiac", which originated back in 2015, are two conceptual works where synthesizers imitated the sounds of space stations, and beats resembled the pulse of distant planets. Critics would call it an "audio journey through the galaxies," and also cemented the duo's reputation as masters of melodic trance with a hard drive.
