The music mostly devoted to fantasy, that`s why most of spacesynth tracks can be used as soundtracks to cinematic space travels. According to genre`s rules, all compositions must be recorded with analog synths and drum machines, whereas a sound must be distorted.

The style was formed in the mid-80s and fell into oblivion in the early 90s. Most of artists recorded their music on the Italian label Memory Records.
