Rare as a Green Dog is a global network and platform to showcase unique and authentic electronic artists whose output is experimental and enjoyable. Founder caro snatch was once referred to as as "rarer than a green dog" (a Spanish phrase). She thought 'what a nice concept' and so series of events took place while she was in Berlin, bringing together UK and Berlin artists to provide a thoroughly stimulating and new musical and visual experience. Seminal Berlin venues like the NBI and Ausland played host to these evenings who have featured a number of random artists including caro snatch, Cathode, Name, Dr Nojoke, Heidi Mortenson and Xacute sound system. This not so little hobo recently re-located to UK, where RaGD has been warmly welcomed with events already scheduled in Newcastle and Manchester's futuresonic festival (one of 4 winners of their evnts competition). Member of a number of international networks, RaGD will be amassing some of these unique partisans on a compilation at some stage.

For this special Newcastle party at the Star and Shadow cinema RaGD has amassed some of the Toon's talented souls to provide a thoroughly stimulating musical and visual experience to celebrate the caro snatch's debut album release.

Proceedings will be kicked off by a caro snatch and Paizan dj set, emitting rare tunage from emerging and established electronic artists. The first live act will be Shubunkin, a one-man electronica hands-free performance which allows the audience to see the music being performed as notes, melodies, pre-recorded and live recorded samples are triggered and manipulated using a number of Soundbeams and midi triggers. ..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com ffice ffice " />

The second live act warm digits is a rather rare live improvisation project between Cathode (Expanding Records, Static Caravan and Andy Hodson (Matinee Orchestra, Map Music) where these electronic meisters can also be found with drums and guitar in/at hand. They will be followed by caro snatch live set in which she will bombard her "home" crowd with pretty much all new material, as raw and rare as ever with hopefully marked development in performance and musicality. Retina Glitch will complement the sounds with their powerful visuals and the evening will be completed by a guaranteed to be fun and funky set from Newcastle's own Urban Geisha.

Its gonna be a special a night of shenanigans with special guests and random acts of kindness.
