Urban Geisha performs @ Nicko's Straniero exibition in Tenderpixel Gallery, London
Just got back from London where I did perfomance in Tenderpixel which is an innovative contemporary art gallery for emerging artists situated just off St Martin's Lane in the heart of Soho. The perfomance with my new project "Jonstun and Urban Geisha" was dedicated to the greatest artist alive NICKO STRANIERO in terms of second part of his exibition under the title of Protoplastic Accumulation.
This installation was creating using white walls of the gallery, and potentially the gallery’s gold ceiling, as blank canvas. Straniero employed recycled objects as stamps and embossing tools. This gradual accumulation of traces, shapes and colors produced by the artist brought into existence a simultaneously organic and geometrical surface that one’s eyes cannot help but become drawn into. The installation work of Nicko Straniero further developed such concepts as creating new visual languages and codes, as well as ‘the fear of the empty space’ (Horror Vacui). The work at Tenderpixel gallery has a visual musicality to it, pregnant with a multitude design and ornamental motifs, not to mention dynamic movement.
