Latvian DJ and producer [Ex] da Bass - widely known both in Latvia and beyond - has recently released a track that may be his most prominent in recent years. In collaboration with Maltese dance music producer Panza, the two have created a vibrant and musically rich cover of the 1992 club anthem “It’s A Fine Day” by British electronic dance music group Opus III. The new version has already gained solid traction on Spotify and other music streaming platforms in a relatively short time.

“Although this brilliant club classic has seen countless versions over the years, I’d like to believe that our interpretation - built around the rhythmically pulsating yet modern Afro House sound - has really turned out great! And that vocal! Can you believe this voice belongs to a Latvian singer? Huge thanks to Paula Pūpola! Several music professionals I trust - as well as dance music fans - have said that in this project her voice sounds almost identical to that of Kirsty Hawkshaw, who performed this track in 1992. By the way, Paula is currently a student at the Latvian Academy of Music. Our version even received a very positive response from the legendary Opus III vocalist herself. I put my shyness aside, sent it to her… and she liked it! It's hard to predict what will follow, but I have a strong feeling that the streaming numbers will look very promising in the coming months,” shares [Ex] da Bass.

After several months spent in Malta, Latvian DJ and producer [Ex] da Bass, who's also well known in foreign countries, releases a cover version of the '90s club hit “Hardcore Vibes” by the German electronic dance music group Dune. The new version was created with the participation of two young dance music producers from Malta – Seguna and Panza.

“I simply can’t imagine a better way to end this year! This is my fifth musical release this year, furthermore it’s also a new and powerful song that I see potentially being played by the world’s top DJs in their sets at the big clubs and festivals. This song is a cover of a Dune hit that I've always associated with the beginning of my DJ career. Thanks to my newfound Maltese friends – Seguna and Panza, who helped me bring this idea for a new version to fruition. I see the right attitude, as well as great passion and potential in both of these guys,” explains [Ex] da Bass.

"I will definitely return to Malta, and it looks like it will happen in April. During more than two months I spent there, I met many great people from the entertainment industry, with whom I want to continue working. Will there be another song coming up? Very possible. I want to try my hand at the Afro house genre, which is currently so popular in the world," adds [Ex] da Bass.

“We started working on music production quite recently. Of course, we still have a lot to learn, but we're ready for it. Many thanks to our Latvian friend for this unique offer and the opportunity to be a part of the “Hardcore Vibes” project, it means a lot to us! DJ and producer [Ex] da Bass from Latvia, who’s been in the entertainment industry for over 27 years and has shared the stage with many powerful names, including The World's #1 DJ by DJMag.com – David Guetta, Sak Noel, Lucas & Steve, Tomcraft, Burak Yeter, Tungevaag and Sash!, has produced an EDM song about Malta - the Mediterranean island he wholeheartedly calls his second home.

"I love Malta. It's a fantastic country with very kind, forthcoming, friendly, and open-minded people, a place I look forward to returning to! During my vacation in Malta last year, it greatly inspired me, so I felt that, in return, I could give this magical island a gift in the form of a dance music song about it. Who does the melodious voice behind the song belong to? And is this singer from Malta? I can't reveal her name, but what I can say is that she's a Maltese who lives in Italy. В пятницу, 9 февраля, под крылом лос-анджелесской звукозаписывающей компании “Barnaton” вышла совместная работа признанного испанского диджея Sak Noel и международно известного латвийского диджея [Ex] da Bass — песня “Miami Freestyle” с голосом Rubi Rox, талантливой доминиканской певицы из Майами (Флорида).

«Это история большого успеха моей 27-летней диджейской карьеры. Я долгое время слежу за испанским диджеем, продюсером и автором песен Sak Noel, который уже давно называет США своим домом и сотрудничал с такими великими людьми, как Sean Paul, Pitbull, Major Lazer и Lil Jon. У более широкой аудитории его имя, несомненно, ассоциируется с легендарным клубным хитом „Loca People“, который когда-то принес ему огромную мировую известность и возглавил UK Singles Chart. В конце прошлого года на его странице в Facebook появилось видео, в котором он предложил фолловерам создать свою версию его коллаборации с Rubi Rox. Это было короткое видео, где Rubi читала рэп сразу на двух языках. Моментально родилась идея, что Sak Noel надо пригласить выступить в Балтии, и вот результат: 14 февраля мы выступим вместе в Мариямполе, 15 февраля в Кедайняе, а 16 февраля – в Юрбаркасе, Литва. В свою очередь, 17 февраля мне выпадет честь разогревать Sak Noel в финском клубе „Maxine” в Хельсинки. Кроме того, есть вероятность, что на песню будет снят еще и клип. Можете в это поверить? Я уже реально начинаю в это верить!" — взволнованно рассказывает [Ex] da Bass.
