what i think -Man, mixing is just the beginning. Honestly, I’m teaching friends who have never touched turntables the basics of how to mix two records in two hours. Not because I’m so good, but because beatmatching is just getting used to some coordinations you have to do. After you know how to beatmatch the hard part starts. Doing it on shit gear, doing it in front of 800 people, dig for music, learn advanced mixing techniques, make yourself marketable, filling a room, clearing a room and then filling it again, deal with DJs before you, deal with DJs after you. DJ’ing is a trade, not just something you choose to do because it’s a cool thing to do.
