Intricate Records has released a new EP by Sergey Tkachev featuring two original productions, “Syntro” and “The Third Kind”, in January 2013. The addition to the label’s catalog is include no collaborations, no re-issued works or remixes made by others. Pure solo work, all brand new, just Sergey Tkachev.
The headlining track is long-playing “Syntro”, which structure effectually correlates with the title. This one is building slowly, getting more and more complicated as the time goes by. “Syntro” gathers new sounds like a snowball, the intrigue remains, the suspense is still here — we don’t know when and, more important, how this track will end. Once you have thought, we were approaching the culmination point, it occurred to be a blank shot, and the main salute is coming soon. “Syntro”, despite its apparent uneventfulness and regularity, keeps the listener in a state of pleasant tension and does not allow a second of relaxation. Not taking a break, even a very short one, the next track of this EP starts. This one is much simpler. If “Syntro” could be compared to the process of launching a spaceship, then “The Third Kind” is the flight of this spaceship. Brisk tempo combined with “smooth” overall sound, futuristic elements and effects, subconsciously reminding us of the Soviet cinematographic masterpieces like “Mystery of the Third Planet” or “Guest from the Future”, collectively create a feeling of cosmic detachment and permanent striving to the unknown while listening to “The Third Kind”.
Sergey Tkachev’s newest works, “Syntro” and “The Third Kind”, are released in January 2013 on Intricate Records. They are available for public on Beatport and itunes:
