BEST

CinemaScope "Slicker and far more ambitious than Fubar... Like De Palma, Dowse seems reluctant to adhere to generic codes, and, in Pete Tong in particular, sets himself up with rather sizeable technical challenges: specifically, establishing hearing loss in visible terms, and simply explaining exactly what a DJ does... Dowse represents something new within the confines of Canadian cinema, which remains largely dominated by art films. While he possesses decidedly commercial instincts, at the same time his hipster sensibility gives his work a decided edge-a welcome addition to a cinema that can sometimes seem simultaneously too arty and too safe."

Critics Rave About Paul Kaye
NEW YORK TIMES "Played with genuine heart and talent by Paul Kaye...Mr. Kaye's performance pushes at extremes...the British comic turned actor appears in almost every scene and he carries that weight admirably. He manages the very neat trick of keeping you interested in a character who doesn't merit our affection but earns it nonetheless."
LA TIMES "Grounded by a gutsy, over-the-edge-and-back performance by Paul Kaye"
LA WEEKLY "We want to believe he's real! Paul Kaye hurls himself into the role with such furious, euphoric energy that he might as well be."
SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE "Kaye expertly slaloms every twist and turn in the film's tone - providing laughs when he's supposed to be funny, and transitioning effortlessly when the movie turns serious."
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS "Kaye turns in a chaotic and ultimately moving performance."
NEWSDAY "The film is anchored by Kaye, a British comedian, whose mad-stork demeanor is disarming and riveting."
VILLAGE VOICE "Kaye's performance does not miss a beat."
XFM MAGAZINE "Paul Kay is magnificent!!"
ZOO WEEKLY "Paul Kaye is an absolute genius."
BPM MAGAZINE "IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG has much in common with Oscar-nominated movies about journeys of spiritual awakening.... Kaye perfectly conveys all the characteristic trappings of someone enjoying the benefits of fame a little too much, and he does it all with deft aplomb."
SALON.COM "English comedian Paul Kaye has a star-making role as one Frankie Wilde, a deranged Cockney exile who's more or less the Keith Richards of the cocaine-drenched club scene on Ibiza, the über-trendy Spanish resort island."
DETROIT FREE PRESS "While most mockumentaries translate as lazy storytelling, this one is elevated by an astounding, Oscar-worthy performance by Kaye, a British TV personality most recently seen stateside as one of the zombies in "Shaun of the Dead." His wild, dilated eyes work overtime in every scene. A simple moment with Wilde watching television turns into an acrobatic facial dance that is both frightening and funny."
DALLAS OBSERVER "It's All Gone Pete Tong succeeds primarily because it loves its subject, played with bright eyes and a big heart by British comic-turned-actor Paul Kaye"
THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC "The exceptionally believable acting of Kaye make this the kind of experience that only film can provide."
HOLLYWOOD REPORTER "Kaye delivers a frequently hilarious and ultimately even moving turn as the ill-fated DJ."
CITY LINK "Kaye expertly captures the wild-eyed hysteria of the popular DJ"
HOUSTON CHRONICLE "Kaye is so persuasive that Frankie, in any state, feels real. His virtuoso performance is showboating as art ‹ or just the kind of inspired extremism that rock's head-bangers invented."
THE BOSTON HERALD "Played with ingratiating charm that manages to offset Frankie's egomaniacal attributes, British comedian Paul Kaye offers a never-wearying tour de force. It's easy to see how Kaye and the film won awards at the Comedy Arts Festival."
THE SUN SENTINEL "Kaye as Frankie carries himself believably through his downward spiral and his efforts to regroup. Even at his most presentable, Kaye never allows Frankie to quite shed his willful, obnoxious streak."
MIAMI HERALD "Kaye is compelling in his own right, and it's impossible to predict where his character will take us next."
CLEVELAND SUN "Wildly jumping from complete farce to sweetly redemptive tale, Kaye snugly fits in every scene"
NEW TIMES PALM BEACH "As the glorious/repulsive Wilde, Kaye never lets the character drift too far into mockery."
METROPOLITAN MAGAZINE "Worth it for Kaye's performance."
THEMOVIECHICKS.COM "Paul Kaye does a remarkable job as the wild party animal, strung out and manic"
