The union of a man and a woman is incredible in its significance and power. This is the same philosopher's stone that can turn anything into real gold. And, primarily, this is a creative union, where a woman (muse) plays a key role.

Three years ago I wrote a musical composition and a poem entitled “Creator and Muse”, which was embodying the myth of Pygmalion: a man creates his woman and he destroys her himself (in sense, he's the only one who can do that). But without his Galatea, the creator himself is nothing.

A similar idea can be found in Shaktism, in the myth of the goddess Kali. The image of Shiva lying under the feet of Kali symbolizes the passive masculine potential of creation. Kali, his wife, is also his "shakti" - the feminine beginning of creation.

Shakti expresses the life-giving power of the Universe and is reflected in the name of Shiva: in the absence of Shakti, Shiva becomes simply “shva”, which in Sanskrit means “corpse”. Thus, it is assumed that without his Shakti, Shiva is powerless, inert, or simply dead. - Camilla Von
