Colourblock have whipped up a veritable storm recently with the trio's "Sky and Fiction" album, following a pairing of "Stardust" with Latenta Project's "With You" earlier this year on the VS series. With original tracks already supported by Luis Junior, Hernan Cattaneo and Arthur Deep, "Stardust" receives a light sprinkling of remix treatment, courtesy of Alexey Sonar and Ditto, to whet the appetite before a full blown remix album hits later this year.
Alexey Sonar has been a regular contributor to the Proton label throughout the last year. His "Point of View" radio show has been a huge success, regularly featuring in the upper echelons of the Proton charts and, as manager of the "Intricate" imprint, his label has been a byword for quality music from some of leading progressive house producers such as Jody Wisternoff and Martin Roth. Consistently supported by the likes of Jaytech, Ben Coda and James Warren, his remix lays down a formidable combination of melody and bouncing energy leading to crisp riffs, full of emotion and ready to hit any dancefoor.
Hailing from Auckland, DJ/producer Tim Corin (as Ditto) is host of 'Tech:One' on New Zealand's UPFM. Releasing on heavyweights such as Vapour, Ditto appeared on Proton earlier in 2012 with "Don't Phase Me", remixed by Fiord. His tech house oriented approach to "Stardust" provides a heavy, driving kick drum and percussive backdrop interspersed with a wonderful combination of original elements and new sounds to take the track in a new direction.
