69 is a Bande à part of 2 friends. This project is rather peculiar. One of us lives in Moscow, another one in St. Petersburg. One based in St. Pete writes and records vocals for the song. Then his friend in Moscow makes musical arrangement, masters and records the song. Here is what the project participants say about 69: «We approach music as storytelling. Each song is a little story captured within a certain soundscape. We try to add cinematic qualities to each song, since we both enjoy cinema. Sometimes we even write little tributes to our favourite films, mostly French, leaving the ghost voices of our favourite actors and actresses reciting the lyrics. In terms of musical dialogue distance is fun. It’s always a surprise. I never know what kind of vocals I’m going to get from my friend. And he doesn’t know how I’m going to arrange his vocals musically. We are influenced by many musical styles, but mostly by jazz, funk, 60’s rock and psychedelia, post rock and by some eminent masters from French and Brazilian musical milieu.
