Review:
Mysterious artist Positive Merge returns with more off the wall techno music. "Chemical Connections" is a pacey, stripped back techno track, its time-stretched bassline and eerie chords sounding like Alex Cortex. "Mad Women" is more experimental, a wall of abstract noise and distorted feedback that suddenly swings into a more dance floor-friendly 4/4 groove augmented by ghostly filters. Ironically, the title track is the most conventional arrangement here, a stripped back, glitchy groove in keeping with the artist's back catalogue. Special mention should also go to Mattias Fridell for his version of "Box", which turns the wiry original into a shuffling dubby techno groove in the Cosmin TRG mould.
