PopTop Rising & The Flashing Universe

PopTop Rising, orignally from Minneapolis, Minnesota USA, Audio Visual (DJ, Lighting Designer, VJ, Sound Tech, Producer) artist, began working in Nightclub's at age16 (1989) as a Concert Lighting Designer and operator. 2 years later I began teaching myself how to DJ, mix and program many musical genre's, mainly House/Electronic Dance Music and haven't stop learning since. From 1993 - 2005 I mainly worked at First Avenue & The 7th Street Entry (the club featured in the movie "Purple Rain" starring Prince & The Revolution) as a Concert/Nightclub Disco Lighting Designer(programmer, and operator), VJ, Resident DJ, Stage and Sound Tech. In the late 90's I played and hosted my own show in First Avenue's VIP Room and Mainroom, called Erotic City #2, which was a Prince themed dance night with Retro Pop, Disco, and Electronic Dance Music included. On the side I also played and worked at other Minneapolis area club's, Rave's and events and festival's, I also worked at another Prince related nightclub called "Glam Slam" as a Lighting operator and DJ.

After moving to Seattle, Washington USA in 2005 I starting DJing at Seattle club's and event's, after being booked regularly at a Downtown Seattle nightclub called "Contour" I was hired( 2008) as their main Lighting Designer/operator, Soundman, and Stage Manager during the weeknghts. Also while at Contour I became a resident DJ, and on my off time I performed at other nightclub's, rave's and and festival's such as Day Out of Time, Kandyland, Last Supper Club, Trinity Nightclub, Vela and the summer Boat cruise's.

Also while at Contour I hosted my own monthly show called "The Flashing Universe, featuring local area DJ playing verus style's of Electronic Dance Music, while in Seattle I was a member of Emerald Cily Entertanment aand Free Ur Mind productions. As of 2011 I am now in Stockholm, Sewden after a 10 month stay in Minneapolis(2010-2011), I'm in Sweden starting all over again and re-inventing my sound.I love many different kinds of music, yet I have a deep passionate longtime love affair with House/ Electronic Dance Music since I was a Kid. I play many style's, mainly Techno, Breaks, Tech House, Tribal House, NRG, Hard House, Psy, Goa and Progressive House.

Music is my life, Music my first love, Music is what keeps me alive on this Planet........ Thanks, PopTop Rising
