Julia Volkova

In 2009, the year after the release of their album Waste Management, Julia made the decision to leave t.A.T.u. due to creative differences with the bands management, “Once I had made the decision, it wasn’t difficult to leave t.A.T.u., I wanted to participate in the project and bring in new ideas.”

In late 2011 Julia released her debut single in Russia. “All Because of You” was released as a way to bridge the gap between Julia Volkova of t.A.T.u. and Julia Volkova as a solo artist by drawing it’s inspiration from t.A.T.u.’s past. Julia explains “I’m not going to go from t.A.T.u. style to R&B, I like rock. My new music is going to be sexy and electric but I am proud of what we did in t.A.T.u. and it will always be a large part of my life.”

2012 was eventful for the singer. After the successful duet with Dima Bilan "Back To Her Future", Julia's explosive solo single "I Didn't Wanna Do It" has become one of the most controversial in Russian show business.
