Jay Montes started DJ’ing in 1990. He quickly became a hugely popular resident in various clubs of his neighbourhood, and this led to guest appearances on one of the biggest radio stations in Mexico, Stereo 100.1 fm.
In 1998 Jay has the opportunity to be head producer in a big production studio of Mexico, during this time he maintains his spinning skills with regular guest appearances at some of the most important clubs in the country. But in 2000, he decides to come back to his first love: DJ’ing, playing around Mexico in different electronic music parties and gaining a residency at El Acanto club. His unique style and great sounds helped him capture a residency at the biggest and most famous club in Mexico : La Boom, and guest appearances at some of the coolest parties in town: Boom Lounge, Mezzanotte ristorante, Danzoo club, Colmillo club and the Palace club.
In November 2002 he was introduced to the Tascam DJ Team Mexico as DJ performer and Tascam product specialist and went on the Tascam DJ tour around Mexico with the team, playing in clubs like: El Gallo lounge, Club Living and many more parties around the country.
In 2003, he was resident at the Lexus after hours club and Prive club, with important guest appearances around Mexico. In 2004, Jay has 4 residencies in the biggest clubs of Mexico City: El Perro after hours, El Perro Bar, Lipstick lounge & bar and the Cheetah club.
In 2005, Jay was the resident of one of the biggest club in Mexico City, the Stereo Club, playing for 2500 souls every night. At same time, he became the main producer of the best electronic music radio station, Beat 100.9 fm.
In 2006, Jay joined Mean-Dream fellow partner Marcos Carnaval on his record label, UC Music Group.
On the DJ side, Jay is part of the line-up in the monthly residencies with Mean-Dream that’ll see him perform, amongst other places, all around South Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. On top of it, Jay became as resident dj in Continetal Dj Club, the most important electronic club in Mexico City, there he had played with some of the most important djs around the world.
His usual agenda sees him spending plenty of time in his own record studio, Mixx Lab Studio, to work on his next big tracks for Mixx Lab Recordings, Aquah Music and more labels as well as DJing in most important clubs around Mexico.
Between 2007 and 2009 Jay played in countries meny countries from North America to Europe.
Now he is dedicating his skills to produce house music, always looking for new sounds, new vocal talents and more places to expand his talent as dj.
