Music might be the fast lane to success for some, but to others it’s a way of meeting the world, gathering experiences and sharing moments. German DJ and producer Kroge is one of the latter, keeping up with the electronic dance game for over 10 years. With an ever-growing dedication to achieve his goals, an open-minded sound and the talent to inspire his crowds, he continues to blaze his own trail – right on the way up. After years of working under the Armin van Eijk moniker, he’s now ready to introduce us to a whole new story: Kroge.
With a curious mind and a creative talent, Kroge discovered the beauty of music at a young age. Piano, guitar and drum lessons have taught him the basics, but the passion that fuels him today didn’t ignite until the age of 18. Struck by the block-rocking beat, heavy-pounding bassline and rapturous rhythm, his first club visit sparked his imagination – and so the Kroge story unfolds. This calling for night-lite adventures led him to invest in turntables and mixers, with the internet’s many tutorials as a leading light. Kicking off his career at private parties of friends, it didn’t take long for him to gather some real experience in small, local bars and German clubs. With each gig he landed, his skills improved. And so, he dared to dream. He quit his job, left his city and moved to London, fully committing himself to his own true love: music.
Driven to play the crowd and help them forget everyday life, Kroge invites them on a musical journey passed all things progressive, house, techno and far beyond. His sound is hard to pigeonhole, and that’s exactly the way he wants it. Weaving the genres and exploring the boundaries of all things music, is what makes his melting pot of music stand out – completely intertwined with the dance floor in front of him. Rocking the floors from London, Liverpool, Manchester, Berlin and Luxembourg to Zurich, Munich, Novorossiysk and Vilnius, Kroge has become hungry for more. To feed his yearning and explore beyond, he also assigned himself to the production game.
Eager to bring his following something truly unique, he knew he had to start blasting his own sounds. And so, he took all of his savings, bought a laptop and hooked into Cubase, to come up with the first few mashups and originals. ‘You Want My Love’, ‘House 2thePeople’ and ‘Expensive Life’ were released under his previous Armin van Eijk moniker and turned out to be the warm-up tunes for his brand new Kroge venture. With a blazing hot mashup cooked for Michael Jackson’s legendary ‘Beat It’ and a few heavy-weight originals in the pipeline, the world will soon meet the Kroge sound.
With new energy, plenty of experience, all the right talents and a daring strategy in mind , it won’t be long until Kroge will be the story everyone has heard of. You might want to listen up.
