DIscovered House (not trance, or rave electronica) at age 27 (1997) when I moved to Toronto from smallish town. Bought turntables immediately and learned how to beat-match. Early 2000's, played first gig at Element Bar, then a few after until it closed. Through mid-2000's, played pretty often, within the rotation of Sydney Blu's Full Moon Thursdays at Beba and other gigs at Chelsea Room, Fabrik, System Soundbar 1x, Footwork 1x, and various others. Preferred and generally tried to keep a low profile simply as a preference, going with a few different DJ pseudonyms. Have/had full-time job, so DJing fulfilled a serious passion and money was of very little importance - that I loved !! (ie. DJing for the people, not for money)
Currently DJing in Toronto sporadically - mainly special events and parties, as well as occasional gigs at 227 (Ossington) and Rasputin Vodka Bar - both are by far my fave venues in the city partic re. venue size and style, sound system, and cool and mature patrons. I don't produce but I am starting to dabble. I pretty much just pound out killer tracks that get people bumpin and boogieing. Mainly Tech and Funky House, plus disco house, classics and other derivatives.
