In April 2011 we decided to change scene and visit the Old World.
From Moscow to Berlin via Prague, Vienna, Munich. Taking pictures and shooting videos we explored beautiful citys, towns, places. 7 days, 5 stops, 4 big citys, 3 countrys, 2 flights, many roads by bus, 2 cameras, 1 ipod, many gb-s of photo and video, new people and wonderful impressions.
Yep. We loved to make remixes on pop-songs, local and foreign. Dance house remixes on vocal tracks in (as we thought) best traditions of Freemasons or WAWA. And it was really fun. But it turned out that most of such remixes was too hard-sounding for russians radios and a little bit oldschool - as radio-djs told us. Seriously. However we loved what we did in the studio, and emails from you guys proved that we did it not so bad ;) Thank you all for your support!
In 2010 we released our first studio album including some exclusive tracks written for it. Well... It wasn't nominated on Grammy or something :) but it was pretty nice, indeed. And we were really excited working on it.
As Arabica we produced progressive house mostly. But long befor, each of us was into trance music. And from time to time we couldn't hold ourselfs from producing some tranc-y and breaks-y stuff as Arabica.
Such a tendency was not only in the studio. When we started to play dj-sets and lives... well... a do remember only couple live performance we played progressive house. Most of our sets were all into trance, tech and breaks music. And we really loved it, the music, the energy.
Once we played a kickass set of classic and legendary rave-tunes! It was fckng great!
There was a cameraman shooting that set, so we made a short promo video, wich you can watch below ;)
Our first really big break was in 2008 when sir Pete Tong put our track Mystic on his online weekly tv-show Fast Trax.
That was awesome!
After the show goes live we recieved many emails with remix-requests and suggestions of all music-kinds, found a manager in UK... And after all, it was much easier to ask djs play this track on radio, in their shows.
It's all started becouse of Pete Tong. He's the one who put us on a map :)
