MF#149 guest: Qbeck (UA)

Ornette - Ornette (Phonique Remix)
Yoel - Evolve (Original Mix)
DeMarzo - Untouchable (Original Mix)
Cassian - I Love It (Original Mix)
Monte - True (Original Mix)

MF#138 guest: Weepee (LT)

mini-interview by Anthony King: Tell us a little bit about yourself. What people should know about a person behind project Weepee?
Nothing special. I guess i'm just another producer, who enjoys the music. Quality music. Nowadays quality music is becoming a rarity, so why because i'm trying to change the world. Progressive house world.

AK: Questions about programs for making music are so popular, so just tell us, is it really hard to produce music nowadays?
Totally not. There are a lot of step by step tutorials. The hardest thing is to produce unique music, not the mainstream stuff.

AK: It's not secret for anyone, that dubstep became one of the most popular genres of EDM. Has it somehow influenced on your music?
Totally not. I didnt liked dubstep when its was undergound. I don't like it now.

AK: Is it harder to write an original track or remix and why?
Its depends. When you creating original music, you creating it for yourself, so you trying to put all your emotions inside. When you doing the remix, mostly of times because the Label wants it, so you tryint to make not just as you like, but also to fit the needs of the label. I prefer originals.

AK: What great djs / producers same as your style can be interesting for Morning Feelings listeners?
Well, there are a lot of great producers and djs, that is not so famous, but creating the masterpieces. Luis Junior, Deepfunk are on top for me now.

AK: Do you have any hobbies? What you like to do instead of working with music?
All my hobbies are related to the music: nightlife, clubs, parties, traveling (because of the parties) and etc.

AK: And last one: tell something about you guest mix. What listeners should prepare for?
Deep, dark, sexy. No David Guetta, no vocals. Music should have emotions by itself. Vocals should be at backgroud.

MF#140 guest: Atapy [CIMELDE owner]

CIMELDE RECORDS - Atapy

mini-interview by Andry Black:  Tell us how was born the idea to be a dj\producer? and how it happened?
Well there are not really much to say about this as it wasn't planned in my life before, also if i'm just got into thinking on that, cannot really believe that i'm doing this and also that i really love it, cause i have never thought that producing music and djing will be my purpose
but i'm happy of that and now i definitely know what is what i want and i'm gonna keep doing it.

AB: Why "Atapy", what does it means? Why not use your real name?
:) Yeah right, well not many people knows this but i'm gonna open it now for you guys, the name of "Atapy" contains my real name and also my dear sister's pronouncig of my first name when she was little as a botle,
so "A" comes from my name Arpi, "T" comes from my family name Takacs and the last three letters are the winning from my sister as she was so little she cannot pronounce Arpi she could only say "apy" :) i guess you do the rest of the puzzle.

AB: Tell, please,if it is not a secret what programs and the additional equipment are u using?
I'm using Ableton plus a bunch of VSTi plugins as i like to generate and create sounds and stuffs, also i'm on some Logic things too, about equipement don't think there is much to say, some small usual stuffs that every producer has it.

AB: Tell about some ridiculous situation during your performance or tours?
Haha, yeah i played in Oslo last year and we had a normal dj boot and i didn't know that it's actually a bigger size table wich can be moved pretty easily if you push it and after a few hours of my performance some girls in the front of it, had much fun
after a few glasses, and they simply started to jump closer and closer until they pushed the dj boot almost on me, i had luck with a few guys that just danced close to me so they could catch the table with all the stuffs on it plus that one of the players just simply stoped
working after a half hour but after all i could handle it and we had a really cool party.

There is a funny one :) when a drunk guy just shouted like 5 minutes continuously to play a track that he wanted it and i sent him signs that cannot really hear what he wants, then he just tryied to come on the right of me behind the boot and there was some small steps,
all i saw when i turned my head on right was the guy lying down with his beer all over on his face :P

AB: Do you prefer vinyl or CD?
I cannot say that i'm a really big one of choosing eather one or another, i play digital on a mac using timecode cd's and vinyl's but i guess mostly cd's anyway if i would be a real vinyl collector and dj then definitely would choose vinyl.

AB: What is you top5(chart) for today?
Superhero - Drugs and Choices
DJ T - Leaven' Me Feat. Khan (David August Remix)
Amirali - Beautiful Words
Atapy - Remember (Inxec vs Droog Remix)
NTFO - Policrom

AB: What is your track do you consider most successful? "You Should Know" was most purchased on Beatport in 2011, can it be said that this was your peak of popularity in 2011?
Yea definitely, i guess this was the track wich mostly took me to a higher level but i have now my newest release the Remember EP out on NM2 (Noir Music 2) wich also helped me a lot, but the very first track when all started with a few steps upon all,
it was my "Move Baby" track on Cimelde, as after this track released i got the most requests from bigger artists and labels, after this i got also the request from Tom for ALiVE and this is how "You Should Know" was created.

AB: You Remember EP was out on NM2, tell us a little about how u meets Noir?
I didn't meet him personally but hopefully will do very soon but yeah i just keeped him updated with my promo remixes and stuffs and he always gived me a feed so i just felt i would need to send him some tunes considering as submission for the labe,
so he liked the tunes a lot, this is how it started and i think we are on a same line so this is why we just finished a collaboration so be ready for that soon.

AB: What kind of music do u prefer to listen exept EDM?
Well i think i'm open for everything that sounds good and creative, if something sounds good for me, its okay.

AB: What plans for nearest future? (GIGS, releases)
About gigs i just have a few request wich are not yet confirmed for Ireland, France guess a few in Romania and there is a hopefully somekinda smaller US tour nothing confrmed as i told.
Then about releases, what i have already mentioned is a track with Noir and a few remixes for Sasch BBC & Caspar on (Sleazy Deep), for Adriatique on (Hive Audio), also Dirty Culture and Cesar Coronado on (Flumo).

MF#139 guest: DNYO [KONSTRUKT]

mini-interview by Anthony King: Tell us a little bit about yourself. What people should know about a person behind the project DNYO?

Cool, well i was born in São Paulo in a family where music was always being sung or played by my uncles. I grew up with gospel and classical music around me. My grand father was a local maestro, church based really, my mother and father were always choristers in his pieces. I got into electronic music when i was 14 - 15 back in in Miami. I used to sneak in clubs with fake id's, it was magical. I work with music on a daily basis, for that i am truly blessed.

AK: Is it really hard to produce music nowadays?
Technology bursts easy ways and means now days, you can make things faster and when you do things faster, most likely they are to become something with less quality and creativity, but in the other hand, this burst in technology is also being used in ways that an artist will capture that moment where he feels his work flow has been made easier and embrace that into perfecting his work even more, making something beautiful. In any way around it, 10, 30 years ago or 30 years from now, making something original will always be hard.

AK: It's not secret for anyone, that dubstep became one of the most popular genres of EDM. Has it somehow influenced on your music?
It has actually, lots of different sounds and artists do, but not the mainstream dubstep, but overall dubstep is part of a revolution, and revolutions are based on big ideas. I'm more of a James Blake, Hotflush Recordings type of fan.

AK: Is it harder to write an original track or remix and why?
No, actually, they are both the same to me, and how hard it is between them is based on how much sleep i get, basically.

AK: What great djs / producers same as your style can be interesting for Morning Feelings listeners?

Oh man, there are some really talented guys out there, but Brasil is going to take over real soon haha! GRG aka Georg, fantastic dj/producer, and André Sobota, by far one of our best creative minds in electronica down here, Redupre who's also a fantastic producer, these are all guys pitching their own stories who take their careers seriously.

AK: Do you have any hobbies? What you like to do instead of working with music?
Oh i love me some movies! I like to watch them and rate them, comment and even recommend some to friends. I'm also trying to get back to playing Basketball, i love the game, i'm a big Celtics fan, i played back in High School.

AK: And a last one: tell us something about your guest mix. What listeners should prepare for? This one is filled with sounds i'm playing at the moment, it's a clash of vocals and deep progressions of house beats and slow builds, there are a couple of tracks of my own as well that are forthcoming on Vapour, Selekt Digital, Bad Pony and my own label Konstrukt.

Morning Feelings radioshow

WestBoy ( www.beatport.com/artist/westbo… )

Mini-interview:
Tell us how was born the idea to be a dj\producer? and how it happened?
I started out as a bboy, so i was always interested in breaks and drumsample loops. Because EDM is big in the Netherlands, you hear a lot of house music growing up, so switching to 4/4 beats was pretty obvious.

Tell, please,if it is not a secret what programs and the additional equipment are u using?
Brown papers, filtertips, 10E of Tbisla hasj and my mac ;)

Tell about some ridiculous situation during your performance or tours?
Sorry but I can't think of a good story at this moment ;)

What is you top5(chart) for today?
1. Roger Gerressen - Somebody Should've Told You [Wolfskuil ltd]
2. Outboxx - Agoria [Idle Hands]
3. The Tortoise - She Took The Tortoise Home (Genius Of Time Remix) [Undertones]
4. Cally - Nashu [Fear Of Flying]
5. Cabin Fever - Star Sky And Hutch [Rekids]

What kind of music do u prefer to listen exept EDM?
A lot of funk and Hip Hop, you know that underground 90's shit ;)

We know that you one of owners ESHU label. We have heard that it's label of undeground music. Tell us a little about this project?
ESHU, starring with Roger Gerressen, Jocelyn Abell, Daniel Lekatompessy and myself. . Near the end of 2010 we decided to join forces and create a collective/crew of likeminded music lovers. We all try to represent the sound that Nijmegen is best known for and that is the sound of the underground. Techno in all shapes and forms.

What plans for nearest future? (GIGS, releases)
Some nice ESHU gigs is coming up and working on some cool stuff with friends and some cool stuff for Fear Of Flying.

MF#131 guests: The Glitz (DE)

Mini-interview:
How you became a dj and who learned you or you did it yourself?

Daniel: A real classic way! In the middle of the 90s I was involved in organizing some events next to our school and I had a huge music-selection. One day a little bit bored of the way the other DJ played I decided to take over the decks for 2 hours. And the next time I played the whole night with a friend. A new love was born. I bought turntables and
learned the classical way for myself.
Andreas: haha.. it began in the mid 90's with playing CDs on birthday party's and weddings.Ii owned a small PA and some light technique to rock the party's with New Wave classics. horror!
1997 i bought my first turntables and started playing electro and techno stuff. one year later i startet producing my own tracks with atari and tracker programs.
this is how it started exiting. :)

Tell, please,if it is not a secret what programs and the additional equipment are u using?
Andreas & Daniel: It's not a secret? Our dj setup containing 2 synced MacBook's, an APC40, two Faderfoxes, a Stanton touch controller, a Xbase-Drumcomputer and an Ipad.
Our studio setup would blast this interview. :)

Tell about some ridiculous situation during your performance or tours?
Andreas & Daniel: It's mostly all about alcohol haha..
I remember a gig in moscow 2 years ago. the promoter came every 5 minutes with a new vodka shot. After our set we really had problems to find our hotel room and nearly passed our flights back next day. okay.. sounds too normal? next try..

We played at the 3000° Festival and directly after the gig somebody jumped onto the stage and stole Daniels Macbook. 2 Weeks later the sister of the bandit wrote us an email that she found a Macbook at her brothers room and was asking if it is ours. So we got it back and everything went fine at the end.

Do you prefer vinyl or CD?
Daniel: Vinyl. No question.
Andreas: i have a huge vinyl collection cause i played vinyl only for more than 10 years.
3 years ago i switched to digital djing cause of the mega opportunities you have. We are producing tracks and want to play them immediately. thats the reason why. I never touched CD players.

What is you top5(chart) for today?
1. Marian (Marek Hemmann & Fabian Reichelt) - Nothing (The Glitz Remix)
2. Gary Beck - Diva (The Glitz - Remix)
3. Cascandy - Escapade
4. Marquez Ill - All it takes (feat. Bright Light Bright Light)
5. Nicolas Masseyeff - Mugen

What kind of music do u prefer to listen except EDM?
Daniel: I love to listen music from Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros, some Folk-Music, Indie and all what gives me a special feeling. Really open minded!
Andreas: I really don't listen to EDM in my spare time anymore. I prefer Jazz and the old Soul music. Also stuff from Apparat and James Blake.

What plans for nearest future?
We are preparing a special Live-Setup without computers. Our plan is to start this live showcase around autumn this year.
In 2012 you will find a lot of interesting remixes we did but we wont say names yet. uuh ooh top secret!!!
Furthermore there are single releases planned on Mihalis Safras's imprint "Material" and our own label "Voltage Musique"
We also working on our second remix album within the best remixes we did for others. Exiting..

MF#127 guest: Malte Seddig (DE)

Mini-Interview:
How you became a dj and who learned you or you did it yourself?
I started djing in 1999 at the age of fourteen when the drum'n'bass scene in the northern german town Bremen seemed to go through the ceiling.
I learned it all by trial and error (mostly error) because I had no alternative. At that time everybody my age I knew didn't understand my obsession with vinyl and why I invested all my money in expensive equipment (that was in fact really cheap crap, from todays point of view).
I am fascinated with the craft in itself. I think you always have to hear that someone is really working with the tunes and is risking something, even though sometimes the mix is not perfect in a conservative way. Experimenting with different enrgy-levels and styles is what makes a mix interesting for me.
That's why I really am fan of Ellen Allien's dj-sets because that’s exactly what she does. Her mixes are far from perfect but you can hear her risking things and trying to test the borders of her mixing skills. I am really bored with the typical Berlin techhouse sets of which djs think they have to play this style because that's what the party-tourist-crowd expect.

Tell, please,if it is not a secret what programs and the additional equipment are u using?
It is not a secret. My host software is Cubase with loads of additional plugins. I am really into Waves, Sonnox, Korg and Native Instruments products.
I don't own a lot of outboard equipment…I recently sold some, but what I got left is of great use to me:
microKORG
FATAR Studio 1100
Aphex 204 Aural Exciter
SPL Channel One
Novation Drumstation
Roland D-110
Yamaha Su 200
KORG padKONTROL
Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro (one of the old American built units)
And some compressors, Exciters and other FX stuff for guitar etc.

Tell about some ridiculous situation during your performance or tours?
Playing durm'n'bass in front of about twenty skinheads in eastern germany. I had no idea… and they didn't seem to have either. Very strange situation.

Do you prefer vinyl or CD?
Vinyl… absolutely vinyl! There are so many reasons, that I could write a book…
Sometimes I have to use timecode-vinyl because there are too many digital-only releases these days. It's a pitty, but I understand the labels (I am working at one) not wanting to risk the high costs for vinyl that doesn't sell properly in the end.

What is you top5 (chart) for today?
Roman Lindau – Borne
Antigone – The Mechanics
Blawan – Peaches (Melting Flesh RMX)
Portable – Island Of Thoughts
Bleak - Ekko

What kind of music do u prefer to listen except EDM?
My music taste is very variable. I like classical Indian music for example. But if you try to find something everything I listen to has in common, it would be weirdness and it always has to have one factor that I understand. Music where I can imagine every instrument or plugin-automation bores me.

What plans for nearest future? Tell about your contact with CYH, nearest GIGS\Releases
I am working at Dapayk's label Mo's ferry. This is where I met Marcel Knopf, the owner of Clap Your hands. He seemed pretty thrilled about my tracks and wanted to make release which then came out in November 2011. New demos are already made… so we'll see what will be coming up.
Some of the tracks in the mix are unreleased stuff.
I'm trying to dj a bit more, because last year was a little quiet for me. Now that I started releasing there's a lot to come I think.
There will be a lot of Gigs in Berlin in 2012. I'd really like to play in foreign country aswell.

MF#124 guest: Alex Flatner (DE)

Mini-interview:
AB: How you became a dj?
Well to be honest it's started by a lucky accident
i was interested in the electronic music in early days and was actually going every wednesday
to a club night in my hometown munich, as I was so enthusiastic to listen to this music.
on 1 day the dj came very late and by a joke I ask the guys, who are running the club if I may drop some record's
for my shock they say yes!!! so I became there resident dj and by a luck this night turned to be one of the best from my hometown in munich, this was in 95 :-)

AB: Your last tracks with Lopazz was amazing, Tell us about this collaboration. How did you meet with him?
Well stefan and me did so many records now together for cocoon, pokerflat for my imprint circle music, we are really a team in the studio and outside the place, too when we do together show's.
I meet him actually through a friend of mine, as I am as well running the label Gedankensport and for one of the releases
we asked him to do a remix for us and from time to time we had more and more contact! I asked him then for a record of mine «The Voice» if his wife, Mariella, as he is from Ecuador
and as well a singer, if she can do some vocal's for me. After that I produced «perfect circles» and stefan gave then the Vocal's for this part. The Record became one of the most played
tracks, worldwide, without the voice it wouldnt be «the» record. After that we decided to work on a project together. So the Alex Flatner & LOPAZZ Project was born.
Our first in total together produced record was then for Cocoon «Make Up Your Mind»

AB: Tell, please,if it is not a secret what programs and the additional equipment are u using?
I use as far for the Software Ableton, but all of my sounds are coming from analogue gear, Virusb, Roland Jx3p, Roland SH 101, Roland Juno 60, Roland Juno 106,
for the sound engine i am using an SSL 24 Channel AD/DA Converter but mixing all those in an analog summing mixer from Dangerous Music 2 bus 16
my studio speakers which I have is genelec 1031 a and klein and hummel O300, after that I am using a hardware compressor from Teddy Fletcher and from the same company
the EQ, to have the tube sound I do have the Manley Massive Passiver Mastering Version.

AB: Tell about some ridiculous situation during your performance or tours?
There are so many and as well funny situations...to be honest I dont know where to start :-)

AB: What is you top5(chart) for today?
1. Adultnapper feat. Black Light — Idiot Fair — H.O.S.H. Remix
2. Slok feat. my favorite Robot — Feel Alive — Subb-an Remix
3. Fur Coat feat. Agenis Britto — Space Ballad
4. Daniel Bortz — Again
5. Dub Taylor — Mind Stroke

AB: What kind of music do u prefer to listen exept EDM? (artists\genres)
I do really love to listen to Jazz, Soul R'nB and Hip-Hop, my roots are coming from Hip-Hop Music, that's the music i grow with.
i do have a big collection from Vinyl Records, which I started to collect since I was 9 years old. Today I probably have
about 12.000 records at home. At the moment I am listening to Ray Charles.

AB: What plans for nearest future? (gigs\ releases)
There are several Circle Nights in the plan, on the 9th of December at Cafe D'anvers with Hermanez, Tom Dazing and Massimo Girardi
I do dj this month at one of my fav. clubs in Berlin at Watergate, also my solo release which comes with remixes
by Deepgroove, Warren Fellow and Martinek will be released on the 14th of Dec.
Also Lopazz and me are already working on our follow up and on our first Artist Album at the moment, too
