Alex Batiqua is a Russian house music producer, a native Saint-Petersburg, the country's main artistic hub.
He has picked up his passion for music early in his childhood. It was the tickling noise of the bobbins that first led him to the idea of playing with sounds. He started his career early deejaying at school dances and various community gatherings. During those formative years Alex was heavily influenced by the music of Parov Stelar, Fatboy Slim, Boards of Canada, Nick Muir, Jamiroquai, Moby and others... Their heritage isn't only reflected on his modern sound but it also helped him find a unique voice of his own.
Throughout the 2000s Alex was making himself a name as a producer while amassing studio experience. By middle of the decade his work at the studio - spinning with grooves and programming beats - started paying off as many local artists began turning to him for remixes.
Since 2008 Alex has been gaining recognition outside Russia after a number of singles and remixes have been released internationally. In 2010 his remix on Moonbeam's single "The Lilt" has seen the light of day through Black Hole Recordings and was included into the most popular shows with Marcus Shultz, Sander Van Doorn, Rich Solarstone and others... 2012 has several musically versatile international collaborations on the way including some tracks in the cutting-edge club genres like house, progressive, tech-house and techno. The likes of Roger Sanchez, Joachim Garraud, Laurent Garnier, Kid Massive, Beltek, tyDi, Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold and more provided their support of Alex’s productions.
Currently Alex hosts a world-wide weekly "Ink Bonkers" radio show and continues producing tracks released on influential labels such as Black Hole (NL), Baroque (UK), Enormous Tunes (Switzerland). Additionally, he's got a number of interesting collaborations coming in 2012
